Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Clasly is a tutoring and education management service operated by Kira Gorbunova, trading as Clasly ("Clasly", "we", "us", or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use Clasly through our website, mobile applications, and related services.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Clasly, we may collect:

Account information

This may include your name, email address, username, account identifier, authentication information, and account type.

Student information

Teachers may create or manage student accounts. This may include a student's name, username, student identifier, class membership, assignments, grades, feedback, submissions, and related educational information.

User content

We process content uploaded or created through Clasly, including assignments, documents, files, images, submissions, messages, comments, annotations, and feedback.

Support information

If you contact us, we may process your email address, account information, messages, files, and other information you provide as part of the support request.

Device and technical information

We may process information necessary to operate and secure the service, such as push notification tokens, device or platform information, IP addresses, authentication events, and technical or security logs.

Billing information

Teacher subscriptions are purchased either through the Clasly website, where payments may be processed by Stripe, or inside the Clasly iOS or iPadOS app through Apple in-app purchase. For Apple purchases, Apple processes the payment and Clasly receives subscription information from Apple (such as transaction identifiers, the subscription's status and renewal dates), linked to your Clasly account. Clasly does not store full payment card numbers or your Apple payment details.

2. How we use information

We use personal data to provide and operate Clasly, authenticate users, manage classes and student accounts, deliver assignments and submissions, provide grades and feedback, enable communication between teachers and students, send service notifications, provide customer support, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and comply with applicable law.

We do not sell personal data.

We do not currently use personal data collected through the Clasly application for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

3. Teachers and student data

Teachers may provide personal data relating to their students.

Where a teacher, tutor, school, or other organization determines why and how student information is processed through Clasly, that person or organization is generally the data controller and Clasly processes the information on their behalf.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring that they have an appropriate legal basis and authority to provide student information to Clasly and for providing any notices or obtaining any parental or guardian authorization required by applicable law.

Clasly processes student information only to provide the service, protect the service, comply with applicable law, and follow lawful instructions from the relevant account holder or controller.

4. Children and minors

Clasly may be used by students who are minors.

Students do not independently create teacher accounts. Student access is created or enabled by a teacher, tutor, school, parent, guardian, or other authorized person.

Clasly does not knowingly use student personal data for targeted advertising.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child's personal information has been provided to Clasly without appropriate authority, contact us at support@team.clasly.co.

5. Service providers

We may use service providers where necessary to operate Clasly.

These may include hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery providers, customer-support services, and payment providers.

Our infrastructure is primarily hosted in the European Union. Stripe processes teacher payment information for purchases made through the Clasly website, and Apple processes payment information for purchases made through the iOS or iPadOS app.

Some service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to protect that information appropriately and use it only for the purposes for which it was provided.

6. Data retention

We retain account and service information for as long as necessary to provide Clasly and while the relevant account remains active.

When an account is deleted, associated personal information is deleted or anonymized where reasonably possible, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, backups, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Technical, security, and support records may be retained for a reasonable period where necessary for those purposes.

7. Account deletion

Users who are eligible to delete their account may initiate account deletion from the Account section of the Clasly application.

You may also contact support@team.clasly.co regarding deletion or privacy requests.

Deleting an account may also delete associated content and access to classes. Where information belongs to or is controlled by another account holder, such as student records maintained by a teacher, some requests may need to be handled through that teacher or organization.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict certain processing, object to certain processing, receive a copy of your data, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You may exercise applicable rights by contacting support@team.clasly.co.

If Clasly processes your information on behalf of a teacher, tutor, or organization, we may refer your request to that controller or assist them in responding.

You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection supervisory authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Notifications and device permissions

Clasly may request permission to send notifications concerning classes, assignments, submissions, feedback, account activity, and other relevant service information.

Clasly may also request access to device features such as the camera or photo library where needed to allow a user to select, capture, or upload educational content.

These permissions can be managed through your device settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Clasly changes or when legal requirements change.

The current version will be published on the Clasly website with its updated effective date.
