Mark on the page, like you would on paper.
Open a student's work and write straight on it. Tick it, circle it, highlight it, leave a note in the margin. Then add a grade and move to the next one.
30 days free, no card needed. Then £19.99 a month.
Your red pen, and a few things it could never do
PDFs and images open in a full-screen workspace. The tools stay out of the way until you need them.
Pen
Ticks, crosses, circles and corrections, drawn by hand in the colour you choose.
Highlighter
Pick out the line where the method went wrong, or the sentence that earned the mark.
Text
Type a neat note anywhere on the page when your handwriting would not fit.
Comments
Pin a comment to the exact spot it refers to, so the student knows what you mean.
Eraser
Changed your mind? Remove a stroke without starting the page again.
Export
Save a copy of the document with your marking on it, ready to print or share.
Grades go out when you say so
Marking and releasing are two separate steps. Mark the whole class on Sunday night, check it over, then release every grade together on Monday morning.
- A number grade, with an optional letter or band beside it
- Nobody sees a grade until you release it
- Release a whole assignment in one click
- Students are notified the moment their grade is out
Feedback that gets a reply
Write feedback with the grade, and carry on the conversation right there on the assignment. A student can ask what you meant, fix the work and send it back.
- Written feedback saved with every grade
- A private conversation with each student on each assignment
- Resubmitted work shows up in the same place
Small things that save an evening
Your tools stay as you left them
Clasly remembers your pen colour and stroke size, so you are not resetting them for every student.
Each student's page is their own
When students write on a shared worksheet, their annotations are private to them. You see each student's copy separately.
Questions
Not answered here? Get in touch and a person will reply.
What can I mark on?
PDFs and images open in the marking workspace, where you can draw, highlight, type and comment directly on the page. Other file types can still be opened, graded and given written feedback.
Can students see my marking straight away?
Grades stay private until you release them. You can finish marking a whole class before anyone sees a result.
Can I give a letter grade instead of a number?
You enter a number and can add a display grade next to it, such as a letter or a band. The student sees the grade the way you wrote it.
Does marking work on a tablet?
Yes. Clasly runs in the browser on a laptop, tablet or phone, and there is an app for iPhone and iPad.
Can a student reply to my feedback?
Yes. Every assignment has a conversation between you and each student, so they can ask a question or send corrected work back.
